Iceland feels ancient and untamed
If you’re searching for an Iceland elopement photographer, you’ve probably already felt the pull of the place. There’s something otherworldly about it: the raw stillness of the landscape, the way light stretches and lingers, the magic tucked into every mountain and fjord. It feels ancient and untamed, a place where nature commands your full attention.
Whether you’re saying your vows beside a roaring waterfall or beneath the soft glow of the midnight sun, getting married in Iceland isn’t just an event. It’s shaped by awe, intimacy, and a deep sense of wonder. I’ll be there to capture it with care and intention, so your memories feel just as wild and unforgettable.
From black sand beaches to misty highlands, I blend raw, honest moments with cinematic editorial portraits, so your photos feel soulful, atmospheric, and entirely your own.

Featured Iceland wedding: Andy + Carrie
South Iceland · June
Photographing this Iceland wedding was like witnessing something sacred. With just a handful of their dearest people, the day was quiet in the best way: intentional, and deeply connected to the landscape around them. From slow, peaceful moments in a remote cabin to heartfelt vows against a backdrop of cliffs and waterfalls, everything felt grounded and real.
As the evening settled in, they celebrated under open skies and soft, moody light, surrounded by stories, laughter, and the wild beauty of Iceland. It was intimate, elemental, and unforgettable. A love story shaped by the land and felt in every frame.

Where I’ve photographed in Iceland
Skógafoss
There’s something pretty surreal about exchanging vows at the base of Skógafoss in Iceland. The sound of the waterfall crashing behind you, the mist in the air and these massive cliffs surrounding you. It’s almost impossible to describe just how small you feel standing there. Watching two people promise forever to each other in a place this incredible is something I don’t think I’ll ever get used to. There was a brief moment after their ceremony where the mist was creating a rainbow and we all stopped, stared and took a few moments to really embrace that moment of “holy sh*t, we’re in Iceland.”

Kvernufoss
My favourite waterfall in ALL of Iceland. Tucked away right beside Skógafoss and one that a lot of people tend to miss because Skógafoss takes the spotlight. It feels like you walked right into a scene from Jurassic Park. I remember the very first time I saw it with my own eyes, I couldn’t believe places like this actually existed. I’ve been there 3 separate times and the crowds don’t even compare to the ones at Skógafoss.
Seljalandsfoss
One of the most iconic waterfalls in Iceland for a good reason. This is the waterfall you can access from behind and it gives such a cool perspective of the landscape. The first time I went, I didn’t realize just how wet you would be walking back to your car, we were SOAKED and it was worth every second.
Gljúfrabúi
Another waterfall that’s often missed and one that should absolutely be experienced. This one is located in a cave right next to Seljalandsfoss. Seeing it for the first time with my own eyes was surreal. It’s a must-see! Some of my favourite photos ever were taken at this very waterfall. I would go back again and again.

My Iceland-specific advice for engaged couples
- Iceland is one of the best places in the world to elope if you want your wedding day to feel like an adventure. You can exchange vows beside a waterfall, explore black sand beaches and end your day somewhere completely different without ever feeling like you’ve left the same country.
- My biggest piece of advice is to never plan an Iceland elopement around perfect weather. The wind, rain and unpredictable conditions are part of the experience. Give yourself flexibility in your timeline and don’t get too attached to one specific location.
- I always recommend making your Iceland elopement a full day experience rather than rushing through a ceremony and portraits. There is SO much to see, and having the freedom to stop whenever something catches your eye is honestly one of the best parts of eloping here.

Best time of year to elope in Iceland
Midnight sun vs. northern lights
If you’re dreaming of long days exploring Iceland, June and July are incredible because of the midnight sun. You have almost endless daylight, which gives you SO much freedom when planning your elopement. If seeing the northern lights is on your bucket list, you’ll want to consider September through March instead, although they’re never guaranteed.
My favourite month: June
June is hands down one of my favourite months to photograph in Iceland. The midnight sun means we can be out exploring and taking photos at 11 PM with the most beautiful light. Everything is starting to turn green, the waterfalls are incredible and having nearly 24 hours of daylight gives us SO much flexibility to explore without rushing.
The month I’d avoid: December
Not because Iceland isn’t beautiful in December, but because you have so little daylight to work with. Between the short days, unpredictable weather and potentially difficult road conditions, planning an adventure elopement with multiple locations becomes a lot more challenging.

Booking an Iceland elopement photographer: what to know
Travel is included in your package price, so you aren’t booking flights or working out where I’m staying.
I’ve travelled throughout Iceland and can help you find hidden gems or trusted local contacts if you need them.
Most destination couples book twelve to twenty-four months out.
Ask me where I’ll already be that year. Sometimes the dates line up and it saves you a significant amount.
See wedding packages for what’s included.

Absolutely. Andy and Carrie’s day had a handful of their dearest people, and it still felt like an elopement.
Yes. Weddings and elopements both, sized to what you want your day to be.
